ABOUT THE NORTHEAST KINGDOM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Northeast Kingdom Chamber of Commerce is the tri-county’s largest and only fully staffed chamber, handling travel promotion, community/economic development, legislative/governmental relations, business training and promotion of regional projects.

We were established in 1891. Our regional chamber is unique in that it covers the entire tri-county region and features a membership that is 50 percent hospitality based and 50 percent from the service sector.

CHAMBER ACTIVITIES

The Northeast Kingdom Chamber sponsors and organizes special events and activities throughout the year such as our organization’s annual meeting, monthly legislative breakfasts throughout the session, e-mail Chamber Alerts & Briefings, the Colors of the Kingdom Festival, Business Celebration, ribbon cuttings, business roundtable sessions, membership benefit forums and after-hour mixers.

OUR MISSION

The Northeast Kingdom Chamber of Commerce consists of businesses, professional firms and individuals from Northeastern Vermont. The chamber initiates and supports efforts to increase the prosperity of our regional economy while preserving the distinctive quality of the Kingdom and its people.

We partner with many organizations throughout the region as we work towards fulfilling our mission of providing opportunities for businesses to succeed while maintaining a sense of community.

We are a 501(c) 6 non-profit corporation under the laws of the State of Vermont and are a proud member of the Vermont Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (VACCE).

A TRUE BUSINESS

RESOURCE ORGANIZATION

The Northeast Kingdom Chamber offers many varied services, including some you may not have heard of, including fuel- and office-supply discount plans. The chamber prides itself on not only the strong promotion  and marketing of our members and region but also supporting them with needed and necessary business support.

The chamber provides certificate of origination services free-of-charge to chamber members within the tri-county region, the only such chamber in the Northeast Kingdom to provide that service. The chamber office also offers the region's Business Assistance Center, a service offered by the chamber, where we help businesses address and solve issues and obstacles they might face in their workplace.

Testimonials

"I would like to recognize the team at the NEK Chamber for all of their efforts and everything they do. A chamber of commerce is central to a vibrant community. Here in the NEK, we are fortunate to have the Northeast Kingdom Chamber organization, its dedicated staff, active board members and all of its member resources."

- Jamie Dimick
Executive Director, Kingdom Access Television

"The NEK is a beautiful yet rugged place. And doing business here can be the same… beautiful, but with steep hills to climb! Yet, the NEK Chamber is available to provide resources to address issues of area marketing, legislative relations and business networking. If you own a business, you need to be a part of the NEK Chamber. Because as members, we ARE the NEK Chamber!”
